Our bodies undergo thousands of hormonal and physical transformations during pregnancy and postpartum. These transformations can profoundly affect our emotions, energy, inner balance and physical comfort. Our bodywork sessions help relieve hip, low-back and pelvic pain, nausea, tight neck and shoulders, leg cramps, edema (swelling), loosening joints and other changes that may accompany your pregnancy. Harmonize BodyworkTM can bring greater ease and comfort to your prenatal experience, release stress and muscular tension, balance the positive and negative energy currents in your body and eliminate toxins. I also teach simple stretches and exercises so you can continue our work at home.
I do not treat clients lying face down after the first trimester, as this position puts extra pressure on the uterus and uterine ligaments. Using pillows and supports of every shape and size, we will get you comfortable and relaxed lying on your side — a great position for massaging the back, hips, belly and extremities. We can also work in a semi-reclined position to address neck, shoulder and scalp tension.

What if my pregnancy is considered high-risk?
Being diagnosed with a high-risk pregnancy can bring fear and uncertainty to your prenatal and birthing process. Many pregnancies labeled high-risk can benefit from the skilled care of a knowledgeable practitioner. I have collaborated with dozens of clients facing health challenges in their pregnancies, such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, low platelet count, high blood pressure, blood clots, gestational diabetes and many other conditions associated with or affecting pregnancy. We work with your Midwife or Obstetrician to create safe and nurturing sessions that are tailored to your individual pregnancy.
